Our cookery sessions fill up very quickly and places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Our aims are for service users to learn a basic knowledge of food hygiene and baking skills. Also to take part in all aspects of cookery, including health and safety. Occasional trips to the local shops and markets to purchase ingredients also take place as well as using produce grown at the Centre when available. Service users will also gradually produce a folder of recipes and skills that they have used to take home with them should they wish to.

OBJECTIVES

  • to gain independent living skills
  • confidence in preparing baked snacks
  • exploring preferences and new foods
  • to improve self esteem
  • to use literature/the internet to gather relevant information
  • access the community safely and confidently
  • practice basic money skills
